Facebook NY Office Installation

CLIENT: FACEBOOK | 📍 new york, new york

Context: Every Facebook office around the globe has a playful photo moment that speaks to its respective city; in Miami, it’s a lifeguard house; in Boston, a canoe under the Weeks Footbridge. Facebook commissioned MAS to design and produce a permanent installation for the New York City headquarters.

Design Direction: To touch on the iconic architecture of New York as well as Facebook’s mantra (“Move Fast”), we created a checkerboard taxicab emerging onto the Brooklyn Bridge. Switches and buttons on the interior of the cab turn the headlights and taxi topper on and off while the glovebox contains tourist essentials such as Statue of Liberty crowns and a map of the city pointing to the FBNY office. NY bagels and coffee cups sit on the dashboard for an authentically New York on-the-go breakfast while an “I 👍NY” flag hangs overhead.
