Maya Asakura Halbert is a freelance art director & designer specializing in live brand experiences. With a background in architecture and event design in New York City and Tokyo, she brings an aesthetically-driven, culturally-contextual awareness to each event she creates. She is skilled in creative strategy, design direction, 3D modeling, graphic design, interior design, and spatial planning. Over the past 10+ years, she has collaborated with many teams to produce memorable, award-winning experiences for clients such as Google, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Tiffany & Co, HBO and more.
Maya’s creative side-passions include paper crafts and dance. Her dimensional paper decor and gift-wrapping techniques have been featured in Better Homes and Gardens and InStyle magazine, and she currently directs an international, all-female dance studio she co-founded in Tokyo in 2022.
